Memo to pro hockey jerks: you can forgive, but you can't forget.
It doesn't quite feel like summer without digging a show at the Amphitheatre. That comes next week, though.
As awesome as stellar summer plans are, their successful execution makes these sweet months go by almost painfully swift.
Fruitflies are hella annoying.
Racial profiling won't stop terrorism.
Rooftop patios rule.
Humidity isn't fun. Especially with luscious, long hair.
Canadian authorities think it's fashionable again to renege on certain treaties with the people who lived on this land first.
Only seven weeks until football season.
Wedding Crashers is a hilarious flick.
Heat makes beer taste better.
As Bob said, "the times they are a-changin'". Some people in this country really need to accept that.
Smog smells really bad, and I think it's killing me.
Moving is a huge pain in the ass, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next time.
Blogs can be really, really cheesy.
Beach parties rule, as does seeing both of your bros at the same time.
I may elaborate on these in the near future. For now I'm trying to stay cool. Anything stick out for y'all this summer?

I'd just like to take a quick moment to give a shout out to my amazing friends Matt and Ruby, who were married July 2. I had the honour of standing with them for their glorious ceremony, and I want to thank them for that. If everyone in the world could someday find the powerful love you two share, we would all live in the ultimate utopia.
To the McGregors!
It's funny how the sun gives the water a certain accomodating glow this time of year. I find this season does the same kind of thing to the tunes you listen to. This is the new shit I've been spinning these days:
Sleater-Kinney - The Woods
Probably the best album these three femme fatales have ever put out. Heavy on the guitar, and delicate yet powerful with the vocal melodies. Oh yeah, and some solid beats, as per usual. My favourite album at the moment.
Beck - Guero
People have been calling this Beck's "return", but in reality it's just the stuff he put on hold after he got dumped. He had a few things to get off his chest with Sea Change, which he did beautifully. Now it's time to party again.
High on Fire - Blessed Black Wings
Unrelenting rock n' roll that doesn't compromise any of its brutality. I've had this album for months and I swear it still gets better with every listen. These guys are one of those bands that can totally restore your faith in rock music.
Talib Kweli - The Beautiful Struggle
Never really heard much of this dude's stuff before, other than collaborations and guest appearances and stuff. This album makes me kinda disappointed I never bothered checking him out. Catchy tracks with a tonne of substance.
And a few old faithful summer albums that can never be denied:
Ween - White Pepper
Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R
Buena Vista Social Club
Paul Simon - Graceland
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Led Zeppelin III
Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley
Neil Young - On the Beach
